Get to Know Me

My name is Eleanor Jorgensen and I am from Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m currently a senior at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, where I am pursuing a Bachelor's in Business Management with a marketing concentration, alongside minors in Communications and Psychology. Through college, I have fine-tuned my time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills through my coursework and extracurriculars. Alongside college, I took the opportunity to work as a full-time sales representative for a pest control company and have done this for the past three years. I have taken my involvement with these experiences to the next level as I networked with customers, coworkers, and classmates, creating lasting relationships. My work experience has helped me to learn professionalism, and how to solve problems efficiently in a professional manner.

Now, as I come up on graduation, I am looking for a challenging work position that will allow me to expand on my strengths, grow from my weaknesses, and refine my skills as a future professional in the marketing industry.

Projects

September 2024-December 2024

In a marketing research course, I worked with 2 other students to conduct a research project for Waimea Valley. We conducted in person and online interviews to assess the accessibility and visitor experience there. The study focused on identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to enhance accessibility for all visitors. Additionally our analysis included correlation and descriptive statistics, with a details on our focus group we conducted on International Single Female visitors.

January 2023-April 2023

As a B-digital intern, I was able to devise an Integrated Marketing Communications plan for BYU-Hawaii Women's Services & Resources to implement. This IMC plan includes a branding, web content, event production, social media, and inbound marketing strategy for WSR to increase brand awareness and reach in the community.

October 2022-April 2023

My classmate and I launched a small startup called North Shore Sift N' Thrift in Laie, Hawaii, to provide affordable, sustainable clothing options. By collecting donated clothes, sorting and selling them at pop-up sales, we offered an easy, low-cost alternative for students and families. In just two weeks, we raised over $1,000 and created a convenient way for the community to donate and shop sustainably.

January 2022-April 2022

During the Virtual Business Professional project, I was able to work in a small group with members from different countries and states across the globe. We collaborated to create a detailed report on Amazon's marketing strategies and recommendations on improving them to cater to a target audience. This project included several team meetings, coordinating through time zones, and extensive research and analysis.

September 2021-December 2021

I had the opportunity to create a short film movie script during one of my University classes. I worked in a group with 3 other students where we brainstormed, constructed, and edited a several scene movie script. We also created several storyboards to display with the script. I took the leadership role in this assignment as I hosted team meetings, delegated to my fellow classmates, and completed the largest portion of the assignment.

September 2021-December 2021

In a university-level introduction to business course, I worked with 4 other students to create a business plan. This project lasted all semester including several presentations, reports, and research. Throughout this project, I stayed consistent in my attendance to group meetings, completed extensive preparation for presentations, did thorough editing and revisions on reports, and submitted all components in a timely manner.
